Vanter is the kind of menswear made for cities — Rome, Lisbon, Milan, and the corner of the Jansstraat where it all began.
A house built on two words.
Vanter began in 2020 from a small storefront on the Jansstraat in Arnhem. The brief was simple: make the kind of menswear we wanted to wear ourselves — heavy cotton, considered cuts, no logos shouting for attention.
Five years later the brief is the same. Only the studio has grown, and the people who weave our cloth in Porto have become friends.
A garment is nothing without its making.
Each piece is woven, cut and finished in three small family ateliers in Porto and Lisbon. We work with weight rather than fashion — fabrics chosen because they hold shape and improve with wear, not because they suit a trend.
Italian buttons. Portuguese cotton. French jersey. Slow, deliberate work. The kind of clothing built to be worn for years, not seasons.
For those who need no introduction.
Vanter is for the kind of man who knows what he likes — and does not need a logo to prove it. A heavyweight cotton zip-up that fits exactly so. A pair of trousers in the right weight of wool. Quiet pieces that look as good in Arnhem as they do at the Trevi Fountain.
The collection is made in small numbers. When a piece sells out, we make it again, slowly, only if we can hold the standard.

Eigenzinnig
We follow no trends. Each piece is our own line drawn — irrespective of what the algorithm prefers this season.
Craftsmanship
Made in family ateliers in Porto and Lisbon. No mass production. Three pairs of eyes inspect every piece before it leaves.
Responsibility
Limited drops mean no overstock. Transparent on origin. We do not have every answer — only the will to keep asking.
Trots
On what we make, on the men we make it for, and on the city we leave from. Vanter is Arnhem — quiet, hardworking, and not for everyone.
